Thoughts of today ..

My Mother sends me lots of emails. Maybe once a month I’ll get one that is actually worth it. Here is her sending “Thoughts of the day” …

?A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes”.

Today has been a rough stressful day, and this quote applies so much.

Things the iPhone won’t do …

Well, I’m rather upset. I found out that the iPhone won’t do everything I wanted it to do. I found at Crunch Gear.

  • Make your bed.
  • Increase penile length and girth.
  • Remind you of your first kiss.
  • Get you laid after June 31st.
  • Accept an offer to spend a weekend with you on the Jersey Shore after just meeting you at Hogs and Heifers.
  • Visit you in prison.
  • Expand your horizons through a complex, ancient ritual involving the iPhone, peyote, a bottle of rubbing alcohol, and a picture of your dead Grammie.
  • Replace your God.

Well, now I might be having second thoughts ….. NOT!!

Can’t the iPhone ads stop now?

Really, I just can’t handle it anymore. This is going to last another 2 days, and the only way of preventing myself from suffering through this would be to unplug myself from the internets. Ya, that’s not going to happen.

Don’t get me wrong, I will be one of those very early risers that show up at the Cingular AT&T store first thing in the morning to wait in line for this glorious device. I’m not getting the 8 GB however. This time, I’m going to settle for the smaller one, and that’s fine with me. Not saying things might change by the time I get there however. For us gadget geek’s, this is torture.

I handed in my very last paper to my class today. Yay, it’s over and done with! I didn’t like that class anyway. Too much .. common sense and not enough interest. My next class is Algebra. Yay. Math. We’ll see how that goes. I’m usually good at math, and I pick up on it very easy especially since it’s been 10 years since I’ve had an Algebra class. I hope it’s like riding a bike.

As for our Travel adventures, Brendan and I made it to Georgia but not without some suffering. Our first flight was canceled, so we had to take a late flight which put us into Atlanta around 10:30pm. I think we waited on our bags for something like 45 minutes to an hour before the panic really set it that they lost our luggage. Come to find out, our bags went out on another flight and were sitting in an over flow baggage area. When we got to Budget car rental, they ran out of cars. We were upgraded for free to a mini-van complete with DVD and screen. It’s actually very nice, even if I’m having wicked flashbacks of my Mother carting me and my volleyball/softball/swimming/diving team around everywhere.

As for work, my boss is still here in Georgia. He was supposed to be back in Florida this week, but he decided to stay. The chaos continues and the tornado surrounding the lack of organization still whirlwinds around him. I’m not sure why I thought that would change. It’s stressful however. I’m pretty full on stress at the moment.

The house! Brendan is in love with it. Closing is this Thursday at 3pm. I’m so excited I could burst. I wish we had all our things moved in and we were unloading boxes. I’m so sick of moving, I’m so glad this is our last time in a long long long time. I wouldn’t mind it being our last time forever. We still need to go out and get a washer/dryer/fridge and have those things delivered Friday. I want to get the cable and TV hooked up Friday too so everything is ready when we arrive with the moving van next week. I can’t wait for Jonah to see his back yard, and Neves is going to have a million places to hide.

Just a few more days … just a few more.

Transforming infinity …

So, I was digging through some old files I had taken from the hard drive of my previous desktop. I found a poem I had completely forgotten about, written the very moment I feel in love with Brendan. I don’t even know if I shared this with him or not.

I listen to your music to feel closer to you
I wear your shirts, to wrap you around me
I smell your deodorant, to re-live your scent
I close my eyes, and feel you kiss my neck
Time murders me, with red tears
My void is only filled by your being
To be so far away, I hold my hand against my heart
Life beats through you, because of you
Patience stands at my doorstep, knocking
As a friend, embraces, and offer tea
Like a piano that can’t play without it’s strings
My breath is taken into your lungs
Our magic is exhaled transforming infinity..

Of course, I ended up marrying the guy…One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Gimme Coffee

Interesting night last night … My boss asked me if I could work late to get this certain project done, because of course, it was going live the next day (I’ll never understand why everything is so last minute at my job, but it is, and it drives me crazy). So I agree to it because I actually like overtime. No no, I like the money that comes with overtime, that’s right.

So, I informed my boss, sure, I’ll work on it, but I had to run to the Hollydogs Inn and make reservations for Jonah. Brendan and I were really fighting with the fact we would have to board Jonah especially after I saw the conditions of the boarding area of the last place we put him up in when we went on our honeymoon. Anyway, Brendan found the Hollydogs Inn which isn’t too far away, and it sounded like the perfect place, right? First impression was, it is soooooooooooooooo much better then the last place, but I was expecting more. Whichever the case, Jonah will be happy in his hotel where he can play with other dogs, and I will worry less about him then if we boarded him at the vets office like before. Moving on ..

When I get home, I eat a little dinner, then I get situated, and I let my boss know I’m ready to start working on the project. He said that it should take a few hours and I should be done by 9pm.

Riiiiiiiiggghhttttt.

The project was easy, it was just time consuming and tedious. At first I couldn’t VPN into work, then I couldn’t log in via WiSSH to my computer. After a bigillion calls to different people later, I found out my boss had Marci reset everyone’s password in our team, then failed to inform us of this. So I’m already an hour late starting this project. I’m starting to stress. Then I start to relax, because I wasn’t going anywhere until it was complete.

This is why I went to bed at 3am….. :: yawn ::

ROFLMAO!

I don’t know what it is about this video, but I have to watch it several times a week. It just gets my happy juices flowing and it makes me smile.

Tag, your it!

I just got tagged by Cam so I must do this or the Intrawebs will hate me forever.

The game is thus:

  1. players start with 8 random facts about themselves
  2. those who are tagged should post these rules and 8 random facts about themselves
  3. then tag 8 other people and notify them that they have been tagged

The 8 facts:

  1. I have natural red hair
  2. I am the only child (stole this from Cam, and I don’t like it much either)
  3. I am adopted
  4. I’m a geek - It’s what I do
  5. I love geek gadgets, I think it’s an addiction
  6. I spend too much time playing World of Warcraft
  7. I can’t properly pronounce “Blood Pressure”
  8. My voice sounds like that of a 6 year old child.

I hardly have anyone to tag, let alone 8 people. I’m tagging:

Site hacked

So, my site got hacked. I noticed I couldn’t post to my blog today, then I looked at what was really going on. Sigh. Hacked. Again.

I know it’s my fault. I should have did something when I first set up my new blog, but I didn’t. I just spent most of the time getting things set up and looking nice. Lucky for me I had a back up copy, but the comments have been deleted.

Dear Hackers,

Please stop. Mmkay, thanks.

Jenny

So there are obviously holes in the new Wordpress 2.2. I gotta find out what those are and fix em. In the meantime, time to start backups of my blog.

And they walk with us, everyday folk

Cam sent me a video yesterday that I have watched again and again throughout the day. It gave me goose bumps every time I saw it. Even my rock star husband was amazed.

Ding! Sort of ..

This morning my mage, Byte, was in Iron Forge doing daily maintenance, like checking the mail and checking the AH (Auction House) for any deals, selling/buying, re-organizing bags, paying repair fees, and making any necessary consumables she will need for the upcoming night. Adept’s Elixirs are a must! So she’s doing her alchemy thing, and I see the “ding” graphic. I look at my xp (experience) bar and I’m still 2.5 bubbles from level. Then I read my log.

“You have discovered Flask of Fortification!”

Whoa. Neato! I’m hoping to get 60 by tonight. I really love playing mage. I think I got burnt out on my priest (Evilburn) and with my constant Internet disconnections (thx Comcast) it would have been pointless to play her anymore.

When I get Byte to 70, it will be my 3rd 70 (don’t forget about Evilcow). Oy.

And, yes, I have straight A’s in school. And yes, I still work 80+ hours a week.

Weekend to do list

I have so much I need to get done on the computer and the Interwebs. Hopefully I can tackle a big portion of that this weekend between being on call for work.

  1. Upgrade blog.yolospat.com to WP 2.2
  2. Extract entries from old blog, Import into new blog.
  3. Throw external hard drive cases over old harddrives in XP desktop
  4. Transfer data to storage device
  5. Finish getting my poetry section done on the wiki
  6. Update school section on the wiki
  7. Clean my desk
  8. Reach level 60 on Byte
  9. Sleep (evil)
  10. Create Gallery on site
  11. Re-organize and combine all achieved data
  12. Burn Photoshop to CD

I think that’s it.

All work and more work ..

I’m on the verge of falling asleep any moment now, but I’ve just gotten here to work, and I have a full day ahead of me. How is this possible? Well, because I worked the weekend and I happen to get calls all night last night, leaving sleep to be non-existent and something of a luxury. I’d give anything to be home right now, sleeping.

I can’t remember when I get a day off next. This weekend I’m traveling. Next weekend I’m traveling. The weekend after that, I’m moving. The weekend after that, I’m working. So, we’re looking at another month possibly? That’s insane. WTB day off, PST!!

I’m due for another vacation I think.

About that list of things to do. Well, I didn’t get any of them done, except for one. I got Byte to level 62 :) She’s flying through quests left and right. The only quests she has in Hellfire is the group quests. Her played time is 12 days, 17 hours. She’s spent a lot of idle time there, obviously.

I’m fighting over the idea of getting a dell laptop. I’ve gone through 3 different laptops at work because they have all been broken “give em back to tech support” and well, they eventually “broke” … So, now I’m asking for a new laptop. If that doesn’t happen, and because I hate going through laptops only to see them break, I think I might just buy myself one. I’ve been using one of our new Dell Inspiron 6400’s that came in a week or so ago. It’s nice, it would be perfect. I don’t think they are that expensive. I’ll have to check on that today.

God I’m tired.
