A great new application I found called Storyist

It’s been a long few weeks. After my spine treatment I somehow picked up the stomach flu. Oh boy, wasn’t THAT fun! Then afterwards the tremendous disappointment that the back treatment didn’t work. For the past 6 months I’ve had one goal. To be able to sleep in bed with my husband. I still can’t due to the pain in my back.

After the procedure it only only got worse, but a lot worse. Along with my back getting worse, everything in my world seems to crash down around me. It happens every time and I hate it. I know it has to do with my poor attitude, but one can only take so much pain before the pot boils over.

There were three different apologizes I wanted to make to three different people and what better time do it when I already feel worthless, right? Each one of these people pretty much said “ya, whatever, I don’t want to talk about it” and signed off of messenger. No wonder I carry so much baggage. I never get closer in anything. And that my friends is what rots my body to the point that it is.

My Grandmother fell and broke her hip again today. It took three people to carry her to the ER. Her 90th Birthday celebration is next week too, I feel so bad for her. She’ll be staying with Mom which means Brendan and I will be camping downstairs. We don’t mind, we like the privacy anyway. I’m bringing a ton of work to keep me busy so there won’t be a moment I won’t have anything to do.

I started writing my novella today. Who knows, it could become a full fledge novel by the time I’m done with it. I’ve been working on idea’s for months and when I started writing up the character descriptions and the setting descriptions I couldn’t stop writing. Next is the plot idea which I won’t be talking about.

I’m using the software called Storyist which I like better than any other novel software out there, and yes I’ve tried them all. I guess it’s what fits your taste and this one pushes my button the right way. The husband was curious about it since he writes too and I sent him the software.

I’m falling asleep at my chair again. More tomorrow.

Vomiting my Reflections

Have you ever had a great idea that you are excited about, or you come to some sort of decision or idea only to forget it later, lost forever in the grey matter sitting on top of your shoulders? One of my major goals in life lately is to reduce as much stress as I possibly can right now. Not only am I don’t it for health reasons but I’m trying to get everything (GTD, tasks, projects, ideas, lists, insert other things I’m forgetting) in some sort of organized fashion.

So, I’m taking one of XV’s idea’s and applying it to my everyday life. I have myself a notebook (my favorite one) where I can purge my brain. So far it’s working out incredibly well. I had a big homework assignment due tonight and I didn’t have the bottleneck anxieties infect my ability to concentrate and write code.

I just need to keep it up and not quick since it’s so easy to blame procrastination on lack of time. Lack of time is a huge reality for me but maybe if I can get a handle on my time management I can reduce the stress of it.

I started writing again. Most won’t understand that statement. Very few will find the significance and see it as comparable to someone who scaled a mile high brick wall.

I’m moving hosting companies .. again.

So, a couple of things. I’ve been staring at the computer screen for way too long, but that’s besides the point. I finally did something that I’ve been meaning to do for a while. After extensive and exhaustive research I’ve finally found a hosting company that I would be happy to give money to. Within the hour I had seen more customer service and personal touch than I had ever seen with any hosting company. I had to pick my jaw up off the ground. What did they do? Well, because I’m not savvy in transferring database files the feature that really caught my eye (well, what feature isn’t great? Seriously?) was:

We’ll move your old data for you
That’s right. If you’re migrating from an existing host that utilise Cpanel/WHM, then we will move your data and files for you. Simply contact our support team and provide us with your existing account information with your old host, and we’ll do the rest. Once complete, we’ll let you know when to update the DNS or nameservers. Can’t get better than that, eh?

So I did. I put in a ticket and said, move my stuff! Please. My previous host (IX web hosting, horrible horrible company, stay away from them) didn’t even have cpanel set up correctly so I got a support email asking how I would like to proceed. That was around the time I was leaving work last night so instead of replying I packed up my stuff and headed home. By the time I got home (remember, I live 3.8 miles away from work) I had another email saying

“I just moved everything manually to your new remote server and everything seems to be working, I hope that was ok?”

Um, gee. Was that ok? ZOMG you people are awesome! And quick, dang my site loads fast and such. I’m very happy with my new business relationship.

I’ve been up all night looking at design and getting idea’s. I do this from time to time. Just cuz.

This quarter is over! Grades came back ..

Well, this quarter is over and I got my grades back.

I just need to keep it up. Google does take a look at your over all grades and GPA, as well as grades for individual classes. It’s worth it. Class doesn’t start again till the 21st (day my Mother gets here for Thanksgiving) but I can log in on the 19th.

Only one more year left!

Garage Storage Solutions

When we bought our house I was pretty excited about the garage. It looked like the previous owners took their old kitchen cabinets out and hung them up on the wall in the garage. There is nothing better then having cabinets in a garage to organize seasonal stuff or to hang up dirty tools or tuck away those items you just don’t use every day.

When I get the rest of our boxes unpacked I want my garage to look slick and organized with matching cabinets, custom built work benches, groovy pegboards, and my favorite is the Garage Refrigerators.
